An example of an alternative pencil for students who are unable to hold a pencil (writing tool) or use a keyboard.
Support students with making their page for the book. Light Tech Book Making:
Hand out the page the students created on day 2 or provide access to the digital page. For students with visual impairments, can have them tactualized and brailled.
Offer materials for students to draw or select images for the page that has been printed (unless you have quick access to a printer and can select together).
Once the picture is drawn/ glued on the student needs to write his or her name on the page using their pencil/alphabet chart. See example of alternative pencil.
Electronic Book making:
Use sentences student created in Pictello, Book Creator, Powerpoint, keynote, Google Slides, TarHeel Reader, Animoto
Offer banks of pictures for students to select from.
For students with visual impairments, offer music or sound effect choices to accompany page.
